I'm glad you like this photo. It was overcast, but still a good day to take in the colors of the season. Got lucky capturing this pose with the boys, they tend to ham it up too much.

I know this spot well as I have also taken my kids out there on more than a few occasions. Looks like you captured the autumn scenery quite well despite the recent weather's negative impact upon some of the leaves - seems our area has a bit too many barren spots in many of the trees but on a cloudy or overcast day its hard to tell when photographing the scenery from within the forests like this scene you captured. Great photo!

I drove by here today to show one of my boys this old water tower but sadly discovered that it was now gone. Whatever became of historic preservation in Wake County? Good thing I took some photos!

We hiked out here today to the spot where I had left this bottle upside-down against a tree way off the beaten trail almost a year ago only to discover that a well beaten path now leads off the main trail to where I left this bottle and the bottle was gone. Go figure.

Good thing I took some photos as one of my boys now loves old bottles, especially Christmas Coke bottles!

Thanks! I believe this photo also seems to capture the holiday weekend essence of rest and relaxation during the last official days of funtime summer activities in North Carolina quite well. In desktop size it may be one of those rare photos that never grows tiresome to look at as its one of my faves from this year too!

Originally I was photographing this old tackle and line tangled stump near the water's edge with the setting sun through the clouds in the background across the water when I suddenly noticed the dragonfly on the top. I then made a number of shots with this one being among the closest before it finally took off.

This is a close-up of just one section of this rounded but cavity filled cool rock I found while out hiking. After taking this photo the rock which measures about 30 cm across about 10 cm thick joined me on my journey back and is now being prepared to become the centrepiece for a small Penjing garden.

Not impressed when you hold tryouts with over 500 players and competing against other city/rec leagues that may have 50-75 players.
