Yes, they have birds from around the world including some endangered species. With more than 2,500 birds and 170 species, the Breeding Center is home to the largest captive waterfowl population in North America and it is in our back yard.

Here is their web page http://www.shwpark.com/

Very interesting birds

Very interesting bird. Does the park house birds from all over the world? I don't think this Lapwing is native to our continent. Your photos are great!

Awesome Job!

This is a great shot of the little bird. I put a Hummingbird feeder in my flowerbed for the first time this year, and I almost get a haircut everytime I get near it. These little beauties swarm, squawk, fuss, fight, and feed from the time the sun comes up 'till it goes down! I also bought and installed two feeders for my grandmother, and there are countless Hummers at her house too. I've not been able to get a clear photo of any of them, but I took 20 minutes of video one day. In one clip, there were four of them under her porch, fighting all at once. Thanks for sharing a photo of my favorite bird!

black capped chickadee

The Chickadee belongs to the group of birds known as titmice.
The word titmouse comes from the Old Icelandic word titr, meaning something small and a corruption of an old english word mase meaning small bird.
articapillus, Latin, ater meaning black capillus meaning hair of the men, or hair of the head
