Yeah, I had just got the new lens so , pretty much all my shots for a while during that time were done with it... I was actually playing with the bracketing on a few shots, and I have a couple different ones of this one.. I just liked the way this one turned out...

Nice shot! I like the way the background frames and highlights the flowers in the foregrround. From the metadata it seems you used a telephoto lens. Interesting choice.

One of my favorite books to read as a child was Mandy, by Julie Andrews Edwards (yes, THAT Julie Andrews). Mandy lives in an orphanage and longs for somewhere to call her own. When she stumbles upon an abandoned cottage, she secretly begins fixing it up to be her place, including saving her pocket money to buy plants, seeds and tools to grow a beautiful garden. I re-read this book constantly as a child and adored it. :)

Thanks! My mother is in excellent health and is very active in her community and church. She sang a solo at the recent church homecomming at Buckhorn United Methodist Church in Chatham Co. I admire her more than words can say.

Looks like a healthy hobby as well as good excercise - keeps one fit and is excellent for longevity, besides all the benefits rewarded by the garden too! Great photo!

Thank you. This framed picture won a blue ribbon (1st place) in the wildlife division at the Lee Co. Fair in October, 2007.
