Beautiful colors! I love the

Beautiful colors! I love the shallow depth of field. It makes the petals look like they are in layers. Nothing hidden by shadows or burn-out. Interesting and easy on the eye. Great shot!

Snake Plant flowery bloom

I have a snake plant and it has bloomed a few times the last three years or so. I did not write it down but I believe it does it about twice a year. The odd thing is at night the flowers would open up fully emitting a sweet smelling aroma similar to a gardenia, but during the day it will close back up. After chatting with someone at a nursery she told me the insect that is designed to polinate the plant must be active at night. Anyways in the past the flowers would last about two weeks and then dry up and fall off. Eventually the stalk will turn brown and dry and I would cut them off at the base.

Nice composition of color and design. Tells a delicious story Perfect eye contact. Try another view on a "clear" day with your tomatoes. What a view even in the fog!

Thank you for this. I have never seen a snake plant bloom and I thought there was something wrong with my plants when they decided to. Peace

Thanks Java,I wasn't quite sure what it was so I appreciate the identification.

This butterfly was still "intact".Many of the others I photographed today looked a little "pecked" to me .

Monarch Butterfly

I see you have managed to capture a hard to get shot of a Monarch Butterfly - I find these to be quite skittish and difficult to get up close to.

Thank you Java. I love Zinnias - they have such a wonderful whimsical transformation into an absolutely amazing flower - and once you think that you have witnessed the most perfect flower in the world then out burst another and another.

Sleepy bees

I noticed a bee acting like this on a foxglove in Scotland this summer. Do they get "drunk" or are they sleepy?
