However, assuming there would have been a truly impartial jury in Durham, I think a trial would have been embarrasing to Mr. Nifong even if the players were represented by a public defender.  What did he have?  A complaining &quot;victim&quot; who has given many different versions of what happened. The other dancer contradicted her story.
