Get over it

I think majority of people that are intolerant towards illegals harbor other resentments/issues (and in many cases racial hatred) that they justify under the guise that illegals break the law, nuff said. My parents were illegal Mexican immigrants in this country, and not once did they accept public welfare/support, nor were they a drain on the system. They built a life, own their home, paid taxes, i.e., contributed to the economy while knowing that they will never receive their full benefits (i.e., social security) because they paid into the system while they were illegals. Why do most people fail to note that there are many hard working illegals that contribute much more than they take from the system? Furthermore, I think the argument that they "break the law" is a bunch of hogwash. We've all broken laws before (rolling through the stop, speeding, lying, cheating, etc.), what gives you the right to persecute others for behavior that you yourself exemplify (is it simply that your limits are "different"?)? We're such hypocrites as a society and this has to change before we can start building this country back to the great nation its been in the past (and yes, even then, it was a country of immigrants - legal and illegal). Do you complain when companies pay exorbitant amounts to bring foreigners in to do high tech work, or white collar jobs (this is quite common)? But I guess by your definition this is quite legal even though it displaces higher paying jobs (one of these jobs alone pays what 10 illegals make in a year). Whats more, I'm sure you don't enjoy the fruits/vegetables that are harvested by illegals, work that you know very well would not be done legal Americans. By the way, globalization will effectively keep wages on check more than illegals bringing down the pay scale. You see, wages can't simply go up arbitrarily, this is called inflation. In order for a society to prosper there has to be real job creation, not wage inflation, so educate yourself before making ridiculous comments that have no basis. Illegals are not the drain on the system you think they are (look up the governments accounting office's (GAO) report on who are the main recipients of public welfare, heres a hint folks, #1 on the list are "whites" - this is no lie).

Illegal Immigrants.

Oh come on people, these illegal immigrants are people too.
I agree that we should treat them with respect and as humanely as possible while we ship them to Houston, put them on a boat and drop them in Vera Cruz. As far into Southern Mexico as possible to make it more difficult for them to return. The only assistance I want to give them is to get them back to where they came from. 2nd time offenders should face prison time.
It is not just the colleges, why do we allow these law breakers to attend our public schools?
Hospitals and doctors shoulod only give free treatment for life threatening conditions.

Illegal Immigration

We should not condone or reward illegal immigration any more than we should condone or reward:

(1)cheating at school or in the workplace in order to get ahead.

(2)evading or cheating on income tax.

(3)shoplifting

(4)breaking and entering

(5)counterfeiting

Simply, what I think about illegal immigration is that we all should follow the rules.
My position has absolutely nothing to do with racism.
I am highly offended when suggestions are made to the contrary.
I am also offended when the suggestion is made that we are obscuring the humanity of others.
If others followed the rules this would not be an issue.

Illegal immigrants

The history of this country has always accepted immigrants into the United States but there has always been a certain procedure that they had to complete. Now we have illegal immigrants pouring over our borders. The problem with this is two fold. The first is that somehow, and I have never figured out how, they use all of our benefits free that I have worked all my life and contrubuted to. When you go to any emergency room there is at least
30% immigrants waiting in the lobby to take advantage of our medical system and I am sure they don't pay for it. This is then put on the back of people who have insurance or of people who have retired and are on medicare. It increases the amouont that U.S. citizens have to pay for this service.
Secondly: Although most of them do work here, there are also those who are involved in gang related activities and drugs. They do not obey the rules of this country - including having a drivers license and car insurance as well as other safe guards that this country has for its citizens.
I have NO problem with immigrants coming in to this country as long as they follow the rules when they don't I think they should be deported even if they have family here.
Illegal Aliens - Just the Facts (What's the Cost?)

Don't miss part 3 below, that's a doozy....we need to close the door or at least stop the gravy train for illegals

Remember the 2006 election?

Thought you might like to read the following:
Part 1
A little over one year ago:

1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%.

Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we have seen:
1) Consumer confidence plummet;
2) The cost of regular gasoline soar to over $4.10 a gallon;
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate (stock and mutual fund losses);
5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars;
6) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.
7) Food prices skyrocketing over 30% in 1 year.

America voted for change in 2006, and we got it!

Remember, it is Congress that makes the laws and spends our money -not the President. He has to work with what's handed to him.

Part 2:

Taxes...Whether Democrat or a Republican you will find these statistics enlightening and amazing.
www.taxfoundation.org/publications/show/151.HTML

Taxes under CLINTON-1999 Taxes under BUSH-2008
Single  earning:                                           Single earning:
30K - taxed- $   8,400                                  30K - taxed $   4,500
50K - taxed  $ 14,000                                  50K - taxed $ 12,500
75K - taxed  $ 23,250                                  75K - taxed $ 18, 750
Married earning:                                        Married earning:
60K -   taxed  $ 16,800                               60K - taxed $   9,000
75K -   taxed $ 21,000                                75K - taxed $ 18,750
125K - taxed $ 38,750                                125K - taxed $ 31,250

Barack Obama promises to return to the higher tax rates if elected. It is amazing how many people who fall into the categories above think Bush is screwing them and Bill Clinton was the greatest President ever.

If elected, Barack Obama has already promised that he will repeal the Bush tax cuts, and amazingly, a good portion of the people who fall into the categories above can't wait for it to happen.

PART 3:

You think the war in Iraq is costing us too much? Read this: Boy, am I confused. I have been hammered with the propaganda that it is the Iraq war and the war on terror that is bankrupting us. I now find that to be RIDICULOUS. Read on...

I hope the following 14 reasons are forwarded over and over again until they are read so many times that the reader gets sick of reading them. I have included the URL's for verification of all the following facts.

Are we THAT stupid?

If this doesn't bother you, then just delete the message. If, on the other hand, it raises the hair on the back of your neck, I hope yo u continue to forward it to every legal resident in the country including every representative in Washington, D.C

NC has one of fastest growing illegal alien populations

North Carolina has had one of the fastest-growing populations of illegal aliens in America. They’ve come here for two primary reasons. First, North Carolina has historically had a growing economy, so there were jobs. Second, the liberal politicians in Raleigh were very slow to address our lax laws regarding identification, so it was very easy to get a driver’s license, until recently, in North Carolina and having identification – even if received through forgery or falsification – is very important to an illegal alien.

According to 2006 estimates from the Federation for American Immigration Reform, about 400,000 illegal aliens live in North Carolina. FAIR estimates that the cost to North Carolina taxpayers for emergency health care, education and incarceration was $997 million in 2006 alone!

Granting amnesty to illegal aliens will provide them access to many more federal and state programs – greatly increasing their cost to taxpayers. Granting amnesty without securing our borders is an invitation for millions more to come to America – illegally. This is what happened in 1986 when we had an estimated 3 million illegal aliens, and now we have an estimated 12 to 20 million.

Millions spent on educating Illegals in NC

A February 2006 study conducted by the Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise at the University of North Carolina the state is spending hundreds of millions of dollars to educate illegal immigrants. North Carolina is now spending $210 million per year. A decade ago, it was only costing $10 million. It also shows illegal immigrants accounted for 57 percent of the state's enrollment growth between 2000 and 2005.

Illegla Alien's affect on Black Employment

"America's leaders need to wake up. It's a fact foreign workers are taking jobs and depressing wages of Americans from all backgrounds. However, Black workers are being disproportionately affected. Studies prove 40% of the decline in Black employment is due to immigration. And the effects will become even more pronounced for our most vulnerable workers as the economy gets worse. It's time for America's leaders, especially our Black leaders, to put the most vulnerable American workers' interests ahead of foreign workers' and the cheap labor businesses that hire them."

NC #8 in illegals population

Almost half a million strong and still growing, the number of illegal immigrants in North Carolina makes the state the eighth largest in the country with the most illegal aliens.

The economic and social impact that they have on North Carolina is even more remarkable.

North Carolina has only 3 percent of the country's total illegal immigrants, but they touch every part of the state-school systems, law enforcement, social benefit programs, health care systems, job growth…

The job area that benefits most is the construction industry, employing about 40 percent of new immigrants in the country. According to a 2006 article by Raleigh's News & Observer, businesses are the biggest beneficiaries of illegal immigrants and "are the reason unauthorized foreigners are here in the first place."

ENFORCE OUR EXISTING IMMIGRATION LAWS…Completely, thoroughly and consistently.

Illegals killing more Americans...

Illegal aliens are killing more Americans than the Iraq war, says a report from Family Security Matters that estimates some 2,158 murders are committed every year by illegal aliens in the U.S. The group says that number is more than 15 percent of all the murders reported by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the U.S. and about three times the representation of illegal aliens in the general population.

The report from FSM estimates that the 267,000 illegal aliens currently incarcerated in the nation are responsible for nearly 1,300,000 crimes, ranging from drug arrests to rape and murder. Such statistics debunk the claim that illegal immigration is a victimless crime.
