Where is the Stanley Cup MVP

Not even a mention of Cam Ward and #30? And Mugsy Bogues, who was an average player, over Arturs Irbe, who led the Canes to the 92 finals? And no 80 Kevin Weekes, who helped the Canes as well? This clearly shows the Canes are not a major player in this market.

Dick Snyder,#10, should be there too!!

Dick Snyder was the engine that drove many of those Fred Hetzel Davidson teams. Usually guarding the most potent offensive threat, he was also an offensive force. Drafted #14 by the St Louis Hawks, Dick scored 11,755 points and grabbed 2732 rebounds in his pro career. Hetzel, although picked first in the draft, had 4658 points and 2444 rebounds. In 1971-72, Snyder shot .529 from the field and ranked fourth in the NBA in field goal accuracy. His average was right behind several pretty good big men...Wilt Chamberlin, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Walt Bellamy. So when I think #10, I remember Dick Snyder!!

Where in the wide wide world of sports is ECU's Carlester Crumpler? He absolutely electrified the state of NC and should have made it on his sports name alone.

NC athletes by jersey numbers

No mention of any players from The Carolina Lightnin professional soccer team from Charlotte in the early 1980's. Many great professionals on that team, but there was one local hero, Tony Suarez who wore #18. He played at Myres Park High School, then played at ASU in Boone and Belmont Abbey...he was rookie of the year for the Lightnin and led the team to the Championship in 1981. He was MVP in the all-star game that year and went on to play for the Cleveland Force in the Major Indoor Soccer League until he destroyed his knee which ended his career. At least a mention under others with #18 would have been nice. Thank you.

Greatest athletes numbers

The one I didn't agree with was Ron Francis, #10. Dick Groat, whose #10 jersey is hanging in Cameron (no more need be said), was also an all-star infielder for both the Pittsburgh Pirates and the St. Louis Cardinals. He helped lead the Cards to the 1964 World Series title and I believe he was also on the 1960 World Champion Pirates' team.

I don't have any disrespect for Francis, but it's my opinion that the only reason you guys picked Francis is because he played with a local team recently. Your young staff needs to read about what Groat did in not one but two major sports.

How can you not even mention Mario Williams?----he dominated at NCSU and was the only #1 pick EVER out of the ACC. Nobody in Houston is whining for Reggie Bush now since Marion had 14.5 sacks last year.
