Don't move up primary

I would give up North Carolina's supposed influence in exchange for not being bombarded by TV commercials and telephone calls. And if we move up - as I think you are suggesting - we could be partially lost in the pack with other states. If, for example, we were among six states voting the same day (or even the same week), how much influence would we have? I care who wins the nomination(s) - but I am not all turned on about whether North Carolina has much influence. It did sell TV commercials and I am sure it sold a few newspapers - but I don't feel too influential?

I applaud Michigan and Florida for what they did, and think the remaining states (including North Carolina) should follow suit. Then the national parties would be forced to choose: Either bar all delegates from every state except Iowa and New Hampshire, or admit that letting these two states have a disproportionate say in the presidential selection process year after year is ridiculous.

The system is already broken, but apparently it won't get fixed until a few more states do like Florida and Michigan and make that fact even more obvious than it already is. So North Carolina should do exactly that.
