Gas Prices

Oil has dropped over $10 per barrel over the last three days. So where is the corresponding drop at the pump? The oil companies are certainly willing to stick to you on a daily basies when prices are rising. This is further proof that this whole issue is an artifical inflation of pricing and they will keep at it until consumers stop using oil or turn up the heat on their pricing practices.

I bike a lot so the high

I bike a lot so the high prices haven't really affected me. Some of the changes people should make are long term ones. For instance, you should live within walking/biking distance of where you work. If you work downtown and it's too expensive, then live within walking/biking distance of a bus stop. I hear a lot of people use the excuse "well I'd bike, but I have to use the highway or it's too far." Well then move! Nobody forced you to live there. You made a bad decision when gas was cheap. Now it's not. Suck it up and move. I've seen a lot more bikers lately, but I'll still be stopped at lights and see people around me, usually overweight, in their SUVs blasting themselves with AC. It's amazing that some people are so dependent on oil that they can't even cool their own bodies!

I just walk everywhere.

I just walk everywhere.

I've lived in the middle of town for seven years now, where I can walk to the store, walk to work, walk to my friends' houses and walk to see my family.

So when I hear these folks moaning and bellyaching that CHOSE to live out in the sticks where they have to drive everywhere and CHOSE to buy a giant gas-guzzling car, I just laugh and laugh.

OPEC can kiss my mmm-hmm-hmm!

Isn’t it high time to think of something better then to run our cars on fossil fuel.
there are new cleaner burning fuel technologies out there! Click for details

Simple: stop using gasoline

You've made the choice to own an automobile that burns gas. If it's the price that's bugging you, Mike, then suck it up.

You're not entitled to artificially undervalued, finite, non-renewable resources. So if OPEC wants to stick it to you, then the only thing you are entitled to ... is to bend over and take it like a man.

From the politicians all the way up to the top...

From the politicians all the way up to the top, they are all yammering up the wrong tree trying to bring down the price of petrol and getting OPEC and the oil companies quite testy in the process of doing so! Perhaps an improved defense contract with Saudi Arabia in connection with international waters surrounding Ras Tanura might be something of a better option to go about bartering for more oil production in times of need and bringing down the price of petrol as it would be in the best interests of all parties concerned. Now that's something everybody on both sides of the issue can understand. Or has anyone even thought of this yet??? It is important!

Under particular scrutiny should be any new tankers entering the area who's captains may be unaware of how high they should truly be sitting upon the waters when empty.

For six years (2001-2007) the Republicans controlled the White House, the House of Representatives, and the Senate; at the same time the majority of Supreme Court Justices were appointed by Republican presidents. And yet it's all the Democrats' fault? Hahahahahahahahaha!!!!! Sorry for laughing at you, but your opinion simply doesn't deserve to be taken seriously.

Oil - the only oil I use is the kind that I put on when I get out of the shower -- oops, don't let me give Bush any ideas (he'll raise the cost of that too).

Oil Prices

Prices go down when there is too much supply. Drill off shore in NC, FL, and ANWR and you'll see the prices go down. Once the world supply exceeds world demand, it will happen..... but if you don't drill, the price goes up- simple economics.

Did you know that each citizen in Alaska got $1,654 in 2007?!! Note that's EACH. The real number was $3,428 but they use a leveling method to dampen ups and downs. Just remember that your politicians voted to require you to pay for more expensive "renewable" energy. They should have voted to give you money.

I bought a Chinese made scooter. Everyone thinks it's a motorcycle but I get 75mpg around town. I have now started a business selling them. I can get good prices from a werehouse where they are in crates until you purchase one. Then they are assembled and delivered. Peace, nohuiam@hotmail.com

Democrackkks should be THRILLED with the gasoline prices skyrocketing! Its what they have wanted since the days of Jimmy Farter.

Next time you hear somebody complain about gasoline prices, ask them if they are a democrat...then tell them to thank their own dunces, so clueless and useless to the world.

For 40 years democrackkks have forbidden any US drilling or refineries to be built in the name of environmentalism. Now look whats happening. THANK a democrackkk today!

Gas is too much! Help stick it to OPEC!

OK, it doesn't look like the price of gas is coming down any time soon. The politicians keep yammering about it, but do nothing. The oil companies are making record profits. OPEC (Organization for Petroleum Exporting Countries) is laughing all the way to the bank. We can sit on our butts and stew over it, or we can do something. There are two or three things we could do right now, today, to cut our gasoline consumption. For example, we could start driving more reasonably, 55 or 60 mph, instead of 75 or 80. That could have a dramatic impact. We could make sure that our tires are properly inflated. We could use the cruise control more. But these are just the most obvious ideas. You probably have some tricks. What are they? How can you help us keep our hard-earned money from the pockets of OPEC and the oil companies?
