Yes, He should be fired and never be allowed to work anywhere near an animal. The punishment should fit the crime. He should be torchered the same way he did the dog. No he shouldnt get any back pay either. People like that should disapear. No need for people like that here.

If the viewer would be able to stomach this blatent
case of animal cruelty and view this video again,
he would see that early on in this video the poor innocent dog is tied to
the railing so that he is almost hanging by his neck
while this sick, cruel, power hungry , sub-human
man ( if you can even call him that) kicks him
repeatedly and mercilessly. I hope that his karma
is on its way and with a vengeance. The dog is NOT BITING
he is HANGING. LOOK AGAIN and you will be far less sympathetic.

This is not over with yet!it made me so sick i couldn't watch the clip

once it got started i had to stop it.and when it came on the news i had to turn

my head and look the other way.I have posted this all over the internet

so that people from all over could see how NC police handle there dogs!!

That cop does not derserve to have his job back. I can only thank the officer

that took that on his camera.so we could see what is really going on.The Judge that let this inhuman cop have his job back is Fred Morrison I hope none of you vote for this heartless person i know im not!!!

Hell yes he should be fired. There is no excuse for any abuse against an animal. And he's a "police officer"? If he will abuse an animal that is supposed to be his partner, what would he do to a person he apprehends.
These dogs are smart, they don't need to be beaten, tortured and tazered at the hands of people like him. He doesn't deserve his job back and should be banned from ever owning another animal. And that goes for all the other law enforcement officials that practice the same thing and just haven't been caught.
Shame on the Judge if he doesn't find him guilty.

I watched this video twice. Should he have been fired?
There is more to this story. He should have been laid off and made to go through physcological testing. The way he yanked the dog to suspend him and then the kicks he gave him, that poor thing was swinging by his neck. He also should not be allowed to work with or train animals. He doesn't not know how to train. And he doesn't have the patience. And rage control classes would be helpfully to him.
If he does this to a poor animal, what would he do to a human who doesn't listen. Its scary.
If he makes it thru all the testing, then he could have his job back.
As far as back wages go, I don't think he is entitled to them. He got another job with another police department.
