I'm one of those who will

I'm one of those who will vote for McCain if Obama is the Dem nominee.

The bottom line is this, either you support the Democratic platform or you do not. This election is about so much more than Hillary and Barrack. Its about preemptive unilateral war, WMD's that never existed, using war as an excuse to spy on Americans or to put them in jail without a trial, its about accusing, undermining, and sabotaging the UN, conducting torture, extraordinary rendition, and violating human rights protected by the Geneva convention. Its about arresting anti-war protestors who can only protest if they have a city permit, which will never be granted by application. Its about reinterpreting free-speech, and freedom to assemble.

This election is about a "two-state solution" in Israel/Palestine which only recognizes and respects one state, spending more money than we have and putting our future into jeopardy, its about soaring national debt, Enron economics and mortgage crises, Bear-Stearns handouts to Wall Street. Its about unbalanced tax cuts that influence how we vote, its about deleting votes with the software on Diebold election machines, hanging chads, revoking minority voters who share a common name with a felon in Florida, the integrity of elections nationwide, but especially Ohio and Florida.

If any self-described Democrat would vote for McCain, who supports and fully endorses the catastrophic Bush policy of the last 8 years...if any one of you would sooner vote for him before voting for Obama, or Hillary, then you have a problem with your priorities. In that case, you are confused, and probably need to think this through a bit more. I'm convinced though, that half of the people posting here, who say they won't vote for the "other candidate" are actually Republicans just hoping to stir up trouble.

RE:Obama, goodbye

LJSN, your message is destructive and hateful.

Both of these candidates are fine choices, and both are viable. True Democrats support a platform, not an individual.

If instead, you support one candidate over the other for personal reasons, which appears to be the case, then you are in this for the wrong reasons. This election will decide whether or not this country continues to occupy Iraq, how we will address the nation of Islam, our true motivations in the Israeli/Palestine "two-state" solution, the conduct of the war on terror, how we will deal with a national budget that is on the brink of collapse. Both candidates admit that their platforms have far more similarities than differences.

You said that damaged goods and questionable associates should bring Obama down. By those standards, Hillary would long since have been gone. Those standards aren't tangible or fair, and shouldn't be applied.

My hope is that all Democrats will unite behind whatever candidate wins the primary, but based on what I hear those who hate Obama saying, I worry that their derision will divide the party, and ultimately defeat the Democratic platform.

Hillary needs to get out the race. Remember she was the front runner. Hillary had the whole democratic constituency on her side. (White women, black, old, young, hispanic, gay straight). What the heck happened! This skinny black kid from the southside of Chicago with some book smart and street smart out did Billary and they were shocked. This was suppose to be her time. The Washington crowd sold middle class white America out. Ross told America listen for the great big sucking sound. (NAFTA) Back during the '90s folks were complaining about China during the Clinton Administration. I did not want to believe it. The chickens have came home to roost. The whole world is looking at how you treat this black man. How can we talk DEMOCRACY in this country to the Iraqi people when are so dam uptight about a black man becoming president. Remember this is 40 years after the civil rights amendment and we still have not allow a white woman or black man to become president. Hippocracy not DEMOCRACY.

The idea that there is any question about who should leave when the choices are an honest, intelligent qualified young man or an untruthful, deceitful ruthless female I would love to see a woman president, but this one gives leadership a bad name. I, as a senior citizen Democrat will never vote for her even if it means McCain will be my choice. I hope NC Carolina votes Tuesday on the basis of the best candidate, and not on the basis of neocon lies.

OBAMA, goodbye

Obama needs to withdraw from this race immediately. He is damaged goods with his questionable associates, his anti-white, anti-American pastor, and his complete lack of answers to any of these issues. Not to mention his utter lack of experience.

Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, brilliantly addresses any issue tossed at her. She is not afraid to walk right into the most difficult situations with the most difficult people. She connects with people on a level Obama cannot even dream of with his glorified, rock-star speeches.

Good people of North Carolina, I urge you to vote for the one candidate who is REAL and will WORK TIRELESSLY for us...Hillary Clinton!

Should Obama NOW Drop Out of Race Due to Racial Controversy

OMG - how many out there have serious head injuries??? It's not about Obama conveniently ending his long relationship with Reverend Jeremiah Wright and that ends it and Jeremiah Wright is a bad man and racist and how could he?

It's all about Barack Obama how after 20 years of having a close relationship with Pastor Wright appears to have a dual personality - one of which is a dark hidden side with racial confusion and the convenient use of disposable people. No one should overlook the facts in order to elect the first black president or first women president at ANY cost! That's not what real Democracy is about.

Obama - remember chose Jeremiah Wright and his church. Jeremiah Wright had very little to do with it except to just accept Barack Obama's friendship and now come to find out - hidden agenda.

It is an extreme stretch of anyone's imagination that this Obama – Wright relationship of convenience is all a complete surprise to Obama after 20 years of spiritual mentoring by Wright and Obama naming a book after a close friendship with Jeremiah Wright.

This is all about saving Barack Obama's presidential campaign after the public scrutiny does NOT like what it sees in the Obama racial controversy. This could set back civil rights 40+ years. This is NOT something to be ignored and just explain it away with another grandiose Obama public lecture/speech!!!

This candidate Obama comes highly manufactured and repeatedly groomed after more numerous focus group encounters and fine-tuning than half a dozen candidates combined. Obama may be the most highly tuned candidate, as the result of many, many focus groups – of our time. Obama "SLICK" is the quintessential political consultants dream robo-candidate that is intentionally designed to mislead the public...and he is!!
http://thejunction.net/justfacts/2008/04/28/jeremiah-wright-demands-race-privilege-central-obama-campaign-issues/

NO one - I am convinced can have it both ways. The real discussion should now focus on whether Obama should drop out of the race altogether. This is not Presidental and what the American People deserve or need right now. This Obama racial controversy could set back civil rights 40+ years. This is NOT something to be ignored and just explain it away with a public lecture/speech !!!

Obama had it for twenty years HIS WAY with the racist Wright - now he wants us to completely disregard that - it was different - it didn't happen - we don't understand - we are taking it out of context - we need to move on - it's not important... HS it is very important. It is outrageous!!!!

The American People deserve to know exactly what we are getting into with any Presidential candidate and most rational people I know do NOT like what they see NOW in the Obama - Wright relationship of convenience.

When Michelle Obama wants to move on - that is an indication that they are into campaign damage control and no more and the race for President over-rules personal privacy and ANY relationship of convenience such as Obama- Wright. Obama is too radical and NOT Presidential - and this comes from a Democrat.

The remaining Democratic primary voters and super delegates can/should act wisely and DENY Obama the White House. Demand NOW that Obama drop out of the race to avoid a setback in race relations!!!

Obama does not equal

Obama does not equal Reverend Wright.

They are two different people. If you have a case to make against Obama, present it. Attacking Reverend Wright is fair, but equating Obama to Wright is not.

Obama should drop out....

Obama should drop out. His electability against McCain is becoming less and less the more that idiot Rev. Wright sheds more light on who Obama has been over the last 20 years. If he is so opposed to Wright's comments, he should have disowned him a long time ago instead of changing his story so many times because he's running for president. If Wright's videos never went public, Obama would still be buddies with this guy and absorbing his rhetoric. We're seeing more of the other side of Obama now, the side he hid from us, and now he's desperate to throw up a smoke screen. No way should Obama be the Dem. nominee, that would be downright embarassing to us as a country to elect someone who bought into such ridiculous ideas and sat and listened to this garbage for 20 years. He should quit lying about his past and fess up to it. He's lost all credibility in my book. Vote for Hillary 2008--she's the Dem's best chance of regaining control of our struggling country. God bless America.

We should all be thankful

We should all be thankful that all 3 candidates(Obama,McCain,Hillary) are much better than the current president. One way or another, the nation will begin to heal once the infectious wounds of this administration are staved.

But it truly surprises me how much anger and resentment come from the Hillary campaign and its supporters against Obama. I've flat out heard some of her supporters say that "if Hillary doesn't win the nomination, they won't vote for Obama" So, they allow the perpetuation of an unjust war, unsustainable tax cuts, and a caustic energy policy, because they think Hillary was a better nominee?

On what basis can anyone argue, after supporting the political issues and values that Hillary stands for, that McCain would advance those principles better than Obama, should Hillary lose?

Despite the media's incessant fomenting, you really do not see that kind of intolerance and malintent coming from the Obama campaign or its constituency.

All the hate is coming from the Hillary side. If you think that sort of "empowerment" is what it takes to push Washington forward, well...I just don't know what to say.

Obama didn't have enough

Obama didn't have enough personal money to launch any sort of presidential campaign, unlike John Kerry for example. In that case where did his money come from?

A quick look at the campaign finance institutes site: http://www.cfinst.org/ will show that Obama's money is coming from small donations made by a large number of people, ranging from very poor to very rich. Very little of his money is coming from PAC's or corporations.

This is a sharp contract to the monies that pay for Hillary and McCain to launch their campaign. If you want to talk money, then at least be hoenst about it.

Obama should drop out. No accomplishments, no plans on how to fix things, a 20 year relationship with an outrageous pastor......Clinton has experience and leadership. I am not voting to have someone to dinner, I am voting to have my future protected and my Country's reputation restored! Note to Barak...you might even turn me against the Tar Hell Basketball team.

After witnessing all the trench warfare between these two wouldn't it be nice if somehow John Edwards could break all the rules and jump back into the race? Even after hearing about that expensive haircut (which kept the person who cut it employed), this is nothing in the way of blemishes upon John Edwards compared to what has become of Obama and Clinton lately. I think we missed our best potential Democratic candidate... *sigh*

...unless if it is even remotely possible, then I believe there could also be a huge shift too! Just my *opinion* here.
