This is clearly a desperate attempt. Obama has already addressed this and the wrote a great speech on race and delivered it in PA...remember. Clinton already threw this kitchen sink. But if you want to look really pathetic go for it. It will only further hurt the GOP's reputation.

Absolutely not, but if they do, I'd answer back that

Barack Obama seems to be a man who wants to promote diplomacy. People hate the United States for whatever their reasons that make no sense to us. But the fact remains they think they have good reason. It is no secret that many black people have been mad at our government. If you've been alive you know that. Jeremiah Wright's shock statement was just that. He meant it to be shocking, but I've never heard the followup as to why he said it, though I can well imagine many blacks say it, they feel they have a right to. We just don't hear them in so many ways. There are many others who have said it for whatever reasons. We as a nation try to overcome & get along but it doesn't always take. I wouldn't have thought I would ever say this, but I have come to the conclusion that it takes a very thoughtful man of great intellect to walk amongst us listening, seeking who we are, wanting to reach out to his enemies for a better world. Didn't the Lord Jesus Christ do that?

Who has been attending church

If it is true that the most segregated time in America is on Sunday, where whites are in all white congregations and blacks the same, how many whites have quit their all white churches because there were no non-whites there? I remind you that Rev. Wright's Trinity Church is integrated.

Facts?

Where did you read that Wrights' messages for 20 years were messages of hate or against anyone?

Peers that you are skewing YOUR facts also.

It is a sad state of affairs when the only rope you can try to "lynch" a man with is the word(s) of his preacher.

If every christian leaves a church when their preacher says something that they don't agree with we will have a lot of empty pews.

Don't buy into the oki-doke... this is a litmus test that should be failed prior to administration.

non issue

The ad linking NC candidates with Rev Wright is totally ridiculous. I think the Wright debacle has little to do with Obama and what he's campaigning for, and even less (none) to do with other democratic candidates.

I don't agree with the soundbyte about the US causing AIDS in Africa, if that's what was meant, even. I do agree with the soundbyte that US policies essentially brought on the 9/11 attacks in a way. If we had a foreign policy in the Middle East that was anywhere near fair or reasonable, we'd be able to act as an honest broker for peace (i.e. not always give Israel $billions no matter how outrageous their claims or how many laws they flout) and we wouldn't be such an obvious target of rage.

BIll Moyers did an interview with Wright recently and had it right. Wright has preached how many hours? Thousands. How many seconds were replayed over and over? Like 15 or 20. Not exactly the whole story, there.

The claims ofhim being anti-America, anti-Jew, anti-white are just ridiculous to me. I have heard the context. I can't relate to it all and I don't agree with all of what he says, but he makes some good points.

Wright and the Clintons

Lest the Clinton crowd get too self-righteous over the Rev. Wright situation, I can't help but wonder why the media has not pointed out that during the Monica Lewinski debacle, Bill Clinton summoned several clergy to the White House. Jesse Jackson was one. Guess who else responded? That's correct, the good Rev. Wright. However, since Bill was not a regular member of Wright's congregation he and Hillary get a pass. Give me a break.

It's really starting to look good for another eight years of having a Republican in the White House.

Why don't you check YOUR

Why don't you check YOUR facts? There are whole sermons out there of Wright, 2000-2007, and I have listened to as many as I can find. They all have a similar theme- Black Supremacy. Now, as a white person, usually I would just brush this off if I came across it on tv and just roll my eyes at the morons who listen to these guys. But when one of the church members is a candidate for president? That cannot be ignored. Doesn't it even cross your mind that if Obama is half as radical as this guy, America is in for it for the next four years if we have the unfortunate opportunity to elect him president?

It just proves that Obama has this black inferiority complex, just like a lot of black people out there I know who are always assuming white people are out to get them. Its sad, and pathetic.

Those of you defending Obama

Those of you defending Obama are choosing to ignore some pretty significant and disturbing facts. Either that, or you're plain ignorant OR these facts don't bother you. That is the truly scary part.

1. Obama and his wife had this preacher marry them and baptize his children.
2. Obama had Rev Wright as a member of his spiritual committee during the campaign until he dropped him when the controversy started.
3. Obama spent 20 years in this church- if he wasn't listening to the pastor, what in the world was he doing there?

Whether you agree with Rev Wright's comments or not, you have to look at the fact that Obama in fact was a member there for so long, and now he's having to do damage control. What kind of cover up is going on? Is he really that ashamed of his church? Obviously the American public should have some trust issues with this guy.

McCain says N.C. Republicans out of touch over ad

McCain said to pull this ad. "But the state party served notice that the ad would air." This ad is too extreme and makes me feel embarrassed to be a life-long, straight-ticket, GOP supporter and voter!! Now I join McCain and say pull the Obama ad with his former Pastor as well. Please run a clean campaign, or just call it quits. But first and foremost, please stop embarrassing Republicans! The GOP needs to stop acting like the Dems and show solidarity behind McCain.

Linda Daves is about to chase me and other GOPs over to the Obama symnpathy vote, if he actually beats Billary. Linda Daves out of touch and doesn't have a clue! Why fire bullets at an unkown target? LMAO

Of course the GOP will air the ads. North Carolina's Jesse Helms is the father of negative campaign advertising. This state is where it started and thought of as an acceptable way to advance a campaign. Sad, but true.

McCain's lack of leadership

McCain denounced this ad and "claimed" that he didn't want the ad to run. However, NCGOP is not listening to thier candidate. So what does this tell me...it tells me that McCain has no leadership. That he can not control or influence the GOP in NC, yet, we are suppose to trust him with the country.

The second issue with the NCGOP running this ad is that many African Americans who support Barack had publicly stated that if Hillary were to steal the nominee from Barack they would vote for McCain. Since the airing of this ad, the African American community, for the most part, have decided to stay home and not vote for either Hillary or McCain in the general election. The NC GOP had a real opportunity to court the AA vote.

Lastly, I look forward to author of this article posting Rev. Wright's interview with Chris Wallace. I hope that inteview garnishes as much attention as the right wing republicans talking points have these past few months.

Don't Blame John McCain...

I believe Senator John McCain is trying to run a clean campaign, and therefore does not want to be associated with negative TV ads. If the Republican Party of North Carolina wants to ignore him, as well as the National Republican Party then it can do so, but that certainly does nothing to enhance North Carolina's image. Politics is getting to the point that truth, half-truth and outright lies are just fine if they win you the election, or defeat an opponent. What a disgrace to our forefathers! The two parties are getting to the place where there is no civility between their members, and that's why so little gets done in Washington every year. Can't we start to at least show some respect for each other?? Where will it end?? I grieve for times past when the Congress was collegial. That is no longer true, and this attitude has worked its way down to the voters as well. Too bad for our country!

Does America Need to Elect ANY Democrat?

The average American is appalled at the ever escalating price of gasoline/transportation costs and the impact that these costs are having on the family budget. Further, as we're well aware, transportation costs ripple through the entire American economy on every essential commodity that we're required to purchase such as food. The latter being accentuated by an erroneous emphasis on an inefficient petroleum substitute, ethanol, which actually inhibits our attempts to achieve higher mileage standards. In an America with POTENTIALLY vast energy resources, why have we allowed ourselves to become willing victims of cartel energy piracy from highly unstable, unfriendly fanatical regimes, from whom we now import a substantial segment of our petroleum needs? Imports which continuously drain wealth from America in the form of an unfavorable balance of trade; and, conversely flow petro-dollars into the coffers of Islamofacists and others who would destroy America given the opportunity. Were it not for America's dependence on these Middle-East petroleum imports, we could conveniently extricate ourselves from this cauldron of fanaticism; and, allow the fanatics to wallow in their self imposed misery and virulent hatred for Western culture.

The fundamental question is WHO do we blame for this self-imposed dilemma?

America originated nuclear power; and yet, we produce only 20% of our domestic electrical energy from the nuclear option while countries such as France produce 78%, and have programmed significantly more, dramatically reducing their dependence on fossil fuels. The safety issue on nuclear power is a non-sequitur given the hundreds of thousands of operating hours on U.S. Naval nuclear propulsion systems without incident. But yet, LEFT-WING FRINGE ELEMENTS in our society THAT COMPRISE A SIGNIFICANT PORTION OF THE BASE OF THE DEMOCRAT PARTY have for 30yrs. managed to bring America's nuclear industry to a standstill.

Our Nation possesses an abundance of untapped petroleum reserves off our coastlines; in the Alaskan wilderness; and, in the form of hi-quality shale oil in the Rocky Mountain region where we have the equivalent of ten(10) Saudi Arabia's in recoverable reserves. And yet, we have permitted LEFT-WING FRINGE ELEMENTS to inhibit our access to such deposits. The incredible irony is that the CHICOM are exploring for oil 45miles South of Key West, while we have prohibited ourselves from exploiting the same resources. Had Bill Clinton not vetoed the Republican controlled Senate approval of drilling in ANWAR, exploration which has been previously proven to be beneficial to the Alaskan Caribou herds, we would have had an additional one million barrels of domestic oil production on-line TODAY; and, a concurrent reduction in the at-pump price of gasoline of $1/gallon. Further, there is an inherent synergy to be exploited between Nuclear Power and Shale Oil Extraction. Concurrently, Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama, ensconced in their own vision of scuttling fossil fuels, have both pledged to confiscate the profits of America's Energy Companies. A move that would cripple our capacity to explore/develop additional petroleum reserves; greatly exacerbate our dependence on foreign sources; and, dramatically further increase the price of fuel at the pump.

America has the largest reserves of coal in the world; and, a full 50% of our domestic electrical energy generation is dependent on this resource; and yet, LEFT-WING FRINGE ELEMENTS continuously attempt to restrict the use of these coal reserves; and, to impede attempts to develop technologies/facilities for the gasification of coal. Bill Clinton struck a major blow to America's accessible coal reserves when he unilaterally, over the objection of State officials, placed the Red Hills of Utah with an estimated Four(4) Trillion $s worth of high quality coal assets off-limits. Fearful of mass protests, Clinton wouldn't even go to Utah to announce his heinous restriction; but, rather chose to make his proclamation from the relative security of Arizona. Clinton's actions represented a major financial windfall for his Riady Bros. bankrollers who were in competition with Utah to sell their Indonesian coal holdings to the CHICOM. Ever wonder why Clinton refuses to release the Donor list for his "Foundation"!

Even our Hydro-Electric potential has been brought to a standstill by LEFT-WING FRINGE ELEMENTS over such nonsense as the Snail-Darter. Water resources which could as well now be playing a major role in mitigating the effects of the drought that has recently griped the SouthEast.

Much of the hype over fossil fuels has again been exploited by LEFT-WING FRINGE ELEMENTS over the mythical impact of MAN MADE CO2 emissions on Global Warming. Such proclamations totally disregard the complete lack of correlation between recorded atmospheric CO2 levels and recorded Global temperatures. On Earth as on Mars, where no controversy of Man Made Global Warming factors exist, surface temperature variations precisely track the recorded fluctuations in Solar irradiance. Ask our self-inflicted dyslexic friend, Al Gore, to explain these two recorded contradictions to his Man Made Global Warming hype. The silence is deafening Albert!

Imposition of overly burdensome regulatory criteria and an application morass principally sponsored by LEFT-WING FRINGE ELEMENTS, have made the expense and reduced profitability of investing in additional refinery installations prohibitive. The inevitable result being that corporations for many years have shunned such capital projects creating a restrictive "choke point" in the availability of gasoline products. This "choke point" where refineries are continuously required to operate at peak capacities makes the availability/distribution of refined products within our Nation readily vulnerable to supply disruptions. Further, the dictated multiple blends of gasoline, frequently multiple blends within the same metropolis, have seriously complicated and inflated the time factor in the refinery task.

To be certain, we CAN and we MUST achieve total energy independence; but, our Nation can only extricate ourselves from this self imposed dilemma by a broad-based, comprehensive NATIONAL ENERGY STRATEGY that BLENDS all of the elements of: conservation; major increases in transportation efficiencies, such as increased mileage standards; exploitation of our indigenous petroleum resources; a significant expansion of our refinery facilities; major investments in nuclear energy; supplementation of our electrical grid with solar, wind, geo-thermal, and hydro technologies; and, a major investment in Research and Development to bring a Hydrogen and Fusion based economy to fruition. Unfortunately, to dig ourselves out of this self-created coffin-corner will require TIME. Time which simply means that, in the interim, we must protect our access to unstable Middle East suppliers until we bring our own assets on line. The latter exigency which could readily be scuttled by the Cut-And-Run crowd on Iraq. The regional chaos which would be precipitated by Iran subsequent to a precipitous American withdrawal from Iraq would make the current cost-escalation in energy supplies from the Middle East seem like the Golden Age of Yesteryear by comparison; and, most certainly would induce a much wider conflict/conflagration. The myopia of the Left on these circumstances is astounding. As history has repeatedly taught with grim consequences, PEACE and STABILITY are won only THRU STRENGTH; and, NOT THRU the nebulous psychosis of HOPE.

The ability of a LEFT-WING minority, that has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to whiplash the Democrat Party, to dictate such onerous/debilitating restrictions in the energy sector of the American economy has been made possible ONLY by the passive acceptance of these militant's demands by the more rational majority of the American electorate. The RATIONAL MAJORITY: that believes in the 2nd Amendment to our Constitution; that is proud of our Country; that daily expresses such pride by the furling of an American flag on their property, or the wearing of an American Flag lapel pin on their chest; that proudly places their hand over their heart at the singing of our National Anthem while even shedding a tear or two; that is unashamed to actively recognize the Judeo/Christian heritage of America; that believe that Judges should NOT legislate from the bench; and, that proudly proclaims the unparallel contribution of America to the protection and sustenance of democratic values throughout the pages of world history, as opposed to LEFT-WING FRINGE ELEMENTS that believe America to be the greatest EVIL in the world. As the Pope so eloquently proclaimed on his recent visit to our homeland, "God Bless America".

The task then for the RATIONAL MAJORITY in our Nation is SIMPLY to recognize the SOURCE that sustains and provides the base of support for the LEFT-WING FRINGE ELEMENTS in our society; and, to undertake a decisive role at the ballot box to isolate and relegate these FRINGE ELEMENTS THAT COMPRISE A SIGNIFICANT PORTION OF THE BASE OF THE DEMOCRAT PARTY to a decibel level that is barely audible. ANY TIME you vote for a Democrat, ANY DEMOCRAT, you're unmistakably multiplying the capacity of these LEFT-WING FRINGE ELEMENTS to continue to promote their radical agenda, and to bring our Nation to its knees. A circumstance that no external power ever could have accomplished.

The ability to restore our Nation's status; and, to sustain this Sacred Land that the RATIONAL MAJORITY so proudly calls AMERICA, resides in your hands at the ballot box.

Should the state Republican Party run a TV ad about Jeremiah Wright?

The state Republican Party says it will air an ad linking two Democratic candidates for governor to Barack Obama's controversial former minister, despite objections from Sen. John McCain.

The ad shows video of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and then slams Lt. Gov. Beverly Perdue and state Treasurer Richard Moore.

Two questions here: Should they run the ad that is scheduled to start on Monday? Also, does the Jeremiah Wright situation have anything to do with Perdue or Moore? Watch the ad below.
