He should be able to say whatever he wants under the right of freedom of speech but this right appeals to everyone's common sense so any individual should know that sometimes it's simply better to just shut up and say nothing at all.

I am amazed that people who claim to not listen to a show can know so much and have such an opinion.

Lumbee Indians... don't want to be called lazy... then help dispell the myth. I have been around the tribe, I am Native American, do some work.

If you folks want to really know something about Bob Dumas how about this...
Of all of the HEAT that the show took over the Lumbee Indian's complaints one sponsor of the show pulled out. A large sponsor... a HUGE Sponsor. Dropped the show like it was a Hot Potato... Do you know who that Sponsor was...?

That sponsor was one that as soon as Bob came back on the air the continued to talk about that sponsor as if they never left. He never let on that this sponsor walked away from the show. He never complained that the sponsor was disloyal...
He went on to do public events for the sponsor at no charge.... he went on to provide services to the sponsor, not to win them back but because he believed in the sponsor... and to this day he has never put the sponsor down or turned his back on them...
Who was the sponsor...?

The sponsor was the Hospital that helped save his life...
The spnosor was the one that he raised thousands of dollars for after they dropped their sponsorship of the show.

So, is Bob racist? I don't know.
Is Bob stupid? I am not sure.
Is Bob a fake? It does not appear so...

Does Bob care about people? I thnk that is clear by his actions to Duke Hospital, and all of the patients whose lives he has affected.

No, I think it was ridiculous that Bob and his crew was suspended. I have come to realize that all this nation has come to is a bunch of pathetic, highly-offended people. I think people need to get back to when everything was simple and people actually enjoyed living, instead of waiting to see when you'll be offended next. We have become so consumed with "he/she hurt my feelings" or "I take offense to that" and have become so sue-happy that we have completely lost focus of LIVING. So Bob said something possibly degrading to the Lumbees, so what?? He says something about EVERYBODY! I would like to know why it is ok for one race to joke about its own race, but not right for any other race to. I think if you can't take it, then don't f***ing dish it!

I am so tired of people telling me what we can and can not say. People may say things that offend you or offend me - why are people now-a-days such babies they won't allow it?! Sometimes Bob is funny, sometimes he isn't. If you don't like the things he says - don't listen.
As far as "protecting our children's ears" - that the parents job - not the governments - something we seem to have forgotten in the world today. I NEVER put G105 on - talk or music when my kids are in the car - when they are with me it's KLOVE 106.7.

Mr. Dumas and the rest of his "crew" only did these anti-Native American and anti-Latino bits to get publicity and it worked pretty well. After the Don Imus debacle they had to know that you simply can't do this sort of thing in a politically correct society without news stories, picketers, protests, editorials, newspaper & TV coverage, etc.

Sure, Imus got fired, but then he also got a pretty sweet follow-up deal.

What radio comes right down to is ratings. If nobody listens any broadcast personality walks. Publicity equals ratings. So by blowing this thing up to be a major racial incident (which it isn't) and doing things like the protests and even this little page...you are actually helping Mr. Dumas.

If you ignore them, most NC radio personalities just go away and wind up selling time shares at Myrtle Beach or moving to another town and another radio gig.

What is amazing to me is that when Don Imus insults a few ladies it is on all the national media, but when these small time wannabe Imuses insult two entire races it is only news in Raleigh. Amazing! That shows you how much people outside of Raleigh cares about what Mr. Dumas thinks, so why should it bother you so much?

Mr. Dumas is using you to further his career beyond Raleigh and you are doing exactly what he wanted you to do. Think about that.

Next time Bob makes fun of white people; and he will; I plan to be outside demonstrating ...oh, that's right. I can't because I work!!! Bob and the Showgram is a show of entertainment. I feel that the statements Bob makes are for fun or shock value or to get people stirred up and talking. To suspend him for stating his opinion/view on "Native Americans" is ridiculous. Its definitely called "turn the station if you don't like what you hear." Bob has an outrageous opinion on everything! If he starts to say things I don't agree with or I find offensive, guess what, I can turn the station. I am a long-time female listner who is from Johnston County and Bob is always talking mess about JC folks. Sometimes I think his opinion on women, Johnston Co., and various other subjects are just plain ignorant, but I take it for what it is.....a radio personality stating his opinion or thought of the moment. Am I going to change my personal values and beliefs over every statement he makes? NO!!! If Bob says something I don't believe in I have a mouth and can tell people my own opinion. I hope this gets Bob and the Showgram more ratings and listners. I truly am tired of everyone jumping on the bandwagon and saying its racism. I also listen to other shows like 99.1 Fox and 97.3 and they make fun of white people and say racist remarks against other races..........are they off the air.. no! I don't understand why everyone is so sore about Bob's opinions/remarks. Knowing Bob personally, I can account for his intentions; he was never a harmful individual, nor does he ever intend to hurt anyone verbally. I don't understand why people can not realize that if something offends them they should become the bigger person and take the appropriate actions [ie - change what you are listening to]. Let's keep in mind that Bob does have an alter ego/alias [personality] that he carries within the show. He has been doing it for years, and you should know by now how the system works for the morning show. Be the mature one by not criticizing his opinions but rather learning to adapt to the situation where everyone can benefit from your actions.

In other words let's act our age [GROW UP!!!], and stop being ignorant! You're not going to be a hero for standing up for something as ridiculous as this situation.

Did they really get suspended over a silly little joke? Does anyone who has an opinion here ever listen to the show? If ya did you would know he jokes about everything. He jokes about his own person life....his tumor, his weight. So I guess anyone out there who has every had a tumor or anyone who is overweight should be so offended and never listen again.
I think this is ridicilous and I think unfortuneltly this is gonna really change the show. They won't be able to say anything without someone crying that thier feeling are now hurt.
If I have to listen to Randy in the morning then I guess I don't listen to G105 anymore.
See how that works. I don't care for Randy so I don't listen on my drive home so I guess if ya don't like the showgram then just don't listen.
