Real Progress

As a little girl born in Lee County who daily saw the KKK's billboard, who played around a block my family was sold on during slavery I can say I never thought I'd live to see our country get past race nor to elect a person of color President. As a realist I know that the playing field is still unequal, there is still hate, discrimination etc. but this is a true beacon of HOPE for me that one day perhaps all of us will be judged by the content of our character and not by the color of our skin. May GOD bless America, our State, and our new President Barack Obama and lead him with wisdom and grant him protection always!
