Small Milkweed Bugs 10 - 12 mm in size, range in colors from orange-black to red-black. They suck nectar from flowers with their 'beak' and also use it to stab it's prey.  It is said to produce significant pain if you are stabbed by the milkweed bug.  I made this photo in June '08.
