Jesse Helms' death is to be mourned as much as any person's.
His passing does not, however, obscure his legacy of racism and anger, both of which are the antithesis of Christianity (which he regularly cloaked himself with).
Great men are known by what they were FOR. What PROGRESS did they play a role in. Mr. Helms is known for what he was AGAINST and for his efforts to STOP progress. A sad legacy indeed.
