For 18 years Raleigh had a great party in downtown Fayetteville Mall called Alive After Five. Then the city of Raleigh (Meeker) decided to reconstruct the street and ended the party.
They tried the party a few other places but nothing was as good as the original. Now that Fayetteville Street is done, why can't we have Alive After Five once a month, like the 3rd Thursday or something?
This was one of the best parties in town! Live bands, no cover, $4 beers, or they let you bring in your 6 pack via a WRAL 101.5 cooler. It was the best place to meet singles, everyone went out after, it generated revenue for the restaurants and bars on a Thrusday night! It was great and a win win!
I want Alive After Five (AA5) back! Anyone else?
