Controversial on-air comments about American Indians on "Bob and the Showgram" have gotten host Bob Dumas and his two co-hosts suspended until Monday, April 14.
Should Dumas and his co-hosts have been suspended? Is the suspension enough?
Yeah, where before we may have had no opinion about this tribe, now we think they are cry babies. It only takes 1 or 2 to besmirch everyone.
I think the Lumbees and all Indian Tribes should be commended for standing up to this.

I also commend those who stand up for themselves and the Lumbees have behaved admirably in that there has been no violence.
Don't hide behind freedom of speech. I did stop listening to him, because his opinions are foolish and obviously uninformed. Although there are other stations to listen to, I am glad to know that someone was listening. He needs to be monitored.
Unfortunately, some folks such as you are blind to the harm created by his comments.

Jokes are stated in a matter of fact statement such as he stated. I'm not sure how you define joke. Maybe everyone jokes about race, but I don't see it funny at all.
Freedom of speech is everyone's right...just as you get to voice your opinion (whether or not I agree or disagree) so do the folks on G105. They are not on the radio to appease the masses. It is the difference in opinion that makes it entertaining. Not once has Bob Dumas changed my mind about any of my strong beliefs but I still find it interesting to hear his point of view. Plus he never claims to be an authority on any of the subjects he talks about...just giving his honest take on things. It is a diverse world we live in and it is time that people stop taking offense at being called "lazy" (boo hoo). There are MUCH worse things happening in the world to focus on and make a big deal about but certainly NOT this.
People need to stop saying that he is allowed to say whatever he wants due to freedom of speech. We are only free from government persecution to say what we want. Clear Channel and any other private business can tell any employee what to say or not say while representing their interests. Clear Channel only cares about ratings, so they will put a slap on the wrist to appease everyone and then but this annoying idiot back on the air.
He should be able to say whatever he wants under the right of freedom of speech but this right appeals to everyone's common sense so any individual should know that sometimes it's simply better to just shut up and say nothing at all.
