I hate it when folks get upset or angry at people for doing certain things when they don't know why they did what they did. For some reason, we think we know everything and understand everyone else's motivations for doing things when in actuality, we have no clue.
Why and I ranting about this? Because Judge Marvin Arrington in the ATL (Atlanta) is under a little fire because he ordered white lawyers out of his courtroom when he wanted to address the defendants, who were mostly black. Now when you first read that you think the worst. I get it. But that's because the freakin' media knows that's we'll think that. On the surface it looks bad, but the judge is not racist. Do I know him? No. Have I ever met him? Nope. How do I know he's not a racist? Because I know several people just like him. People who want to help their communities understand what's right and what's wrong. You might think I'm crazy, but I'm not.
The judge said himself that he wanted to talk to the defendants one-on-one to chastise them for their wrongdoing and tell them that their lives are headed down the wrong path. He said he didn't want them to think he was talking down to them or trying to embarrass. So, once the reasoning is clear, how can that be deemed racist?
That's how this country is. If we don't understand it, then it's wrong or bad. I don't know if this is possible, but if he could have called them into his "chambers" and told them the same thing (and not doing it in front of anyone) we wouldn't even have an issue. We have to STOP calling everything racist. Some things are. But not everything. Especially this whole stupid idea of reverse racism. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but give me a break. Why cry when something is done to you and be silent when it's done to others? That's silly, Holmes.
Barack Obama's former preacher, Jeremiah Wright, wasn't being racist. He just told the truth. Period. Geraldine Ferraro wasn't being racist, either. She's just a confused human being.
I'm not saying that the actions and statements by Arrington, Wright or Ferraro were right, but they most certainly WERE NOT RACIST. We need to try and understand why people do what they do before we jump on them. Don't let he media stir you up.
Arrington was just trying to help his young people see their faults. At least someone is.
Stop calling everything racist, people. Stop with the reverse racisms accusations too. Get over it. Better yet, get over yourself.

Did you hear about the
Did you hear about the controversy not long ago about the school that had segregated student gatherings?
It was precipitated by some dust up between black and hispanic students. The principal at the school chose to gather the black kids, and only them, in the auditorium to discuss the issue. She thereafter gathered the hispanic kids, and only them, to have the same talk with them. There was no gathering of the white kids since they were not involved in the fight that started all this.
The principal was royally upbraided for her handling of the issue since she separated the students by race to either be talked to separately or not talked to at all.
Your thoughts. Didn't the principal and the judge basically do the same thing?
