November 2007. The day after Thankgiving. I was starting a walk before dinner when I noticed the full moon. I went back home and picked the camera, a tripod and a remote wired shutter trigger and went to work on a nearby sidewalk... The submitted photo is cropped with 100% of the original pixels. Shot at maximum 300 mm focal length with a Nikon D80 camera, all manual settings. I forgot all about the walk!
Thank You for your appreciation and for the link to the colormoon site. That site shows very nice large and sharp pictures of the moon (most likely from a telescope-mounted camera, or at least using a longer and better lens such as the ones costing 10 times the price of mine....).
I did make a composite picture of the same shot with color variations, which can be seen on my flickr site (see my profile). The base shot has some color elements which I enhanced different ways, but the colormoon layered process is a lot more work to be attempted another day!
