"Art After Dark" is held on the Second Friday evening of each month.  The Holly Springs Cultural Center, The Nature of Art, Java Divine, Ashley's Art Gallery in Fuquay-Varina, Not Afraid of Color Stained Glass Studio, and now Joyful Sounds Academy of Music & Art are teaming up to host the art walk as a combined town event to celebrate local art.

Ashley's Art Gallery in Fuquay-Varina hosts a free reception Friday October 12 from 6 to 8pm featuring local photographer Tom Leonard II.   Tom's photos of still lifes and majestic landscapes, many of North Carolina scenes, are enhanced to look like paintings.

The Nature of Art  opens "Lifting the Human Spirit" show.
Free Reception October 12 from 6 - 8pm with food, wine & friends featuring contemporary acrylic paintings with a rich and colorful layering of texture designed to sooth and refresh the spirit by Holly Springs artist Willie Green-Aldridge.  In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness month, the artist has donated a giclée print of one of her paintings to be given to the first breast cancer survivor to visit the gallery during the reception.  Showing thru Oct 31.

The Holly Springs Cultural Center opens "Painted Skies", the most recent collection of oil paintings by artist Jeniffer Hutchins. 
Inspired by local, North Carolina parks and lakes, this series depicts the natural beauty of our area.  From sunrise to sunset, light and vibrant colors dominate this serene body of work.  Using bold brush strokes and thick textures the artist has captured the environment of places such as Lake Crabtree in Morrisville, Lake Johnson and Jordan Lake in Raleigh and Lake Pine in Apex.  Reception: 6-8 p.m.  Exhibition through October 31.

Java Divine hosts Andy Coates playing Roots & Blues music.
Friday, Oct 12th from 8-10pm.  A great way to end your evening on the town.
Andy Coats grew up in North Carolina, but has spent most of the last 13 years in Southern California and the Midwest.  He has played at venues of all types from the Iowa State Fair to BB Kings Club in Hollywood and was recently named one of the top 12 blues acts by the Southern California Blues Society.
