How do you decide where to buy gas? Are you loyal to one or two stations? Or do you shop for the cheapest price, even if it means going out of the way?
The answer is ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! While price is important in the short term,what is more important is the quality of the gas. NOT ALL GAS IS THE SAME QUALITY. Several years ago GM,Toyota,BMW,Honda, VW and Audi got together and established a standard for gasoline that would have enough additives/detergents to prevent deposits/gunk formation in the engine which causes REDUCED GAS MILAGE,POOR PERFORMANCE,EXCESS POLLUTION AND EXPENSIVE REPAIRS!!! The gas that meets this higher standard is called TOP TIER GAS. Check out this Link to the web page which explains in detail why the gasoline that meets this standard is MUCH BETTER!!!! If one clicks on the "retailers" tab on the web site it will list the gas companies which have agreed to sell only this Superior Gas. http://www.toptiergas.com/ I am a loyal Shell customer(on the top tier list) and as a bonus it is cheaper by far than the other major oil companies such as Exxon,BP,and Mobile,(none of which are on the top tier list!!!) It is usually the same or cheaper than even so called discount gas retailers such as Sheetzs,Hess and Crown and they are NOT on the top tier list either!!!! Do your car, the enviroment, and your gas milage a HUGH Favor by buying ONLY TOP TIER GAS!!!

Finding cheap gas is not an art. I Googled: "gas prices by zip code" and got 1,360,000 hits in 0.11 seconds. Then selected gas prices by GASBUDDY.com, clicked on NC, the raleigh area (which includes all towns in Wake County) and found dozens of stations in S. Raleigh, Garner, Capital Blvd, and Wake Forest with prices of $3.61 to $3.71. You can get prices for regular, midgrade, premium and diesel and a map of each station. Prices are slightly higher in Cary and N. Raleigh. When your gas gauge approaches half full, print out the list and put it in your car. Gas up at a station on your next trip out to work or to shop. This ain't rocket science.
