…and frankly, I’m already disappointed.

Now, I’ll admit to not being the most up-to-date person as far as current events are concerned, but I’m pretty sure that last year around this time there was a “War on Christmas” going on.

So what ever happened with that?

As I understood it, some folks accused some other folks of waging war on Christmas. I was never entirely sure who the combatants were, but the fighting seemed pretty fierce just the same. And then…nothing. Did the evildoers just declare “Mission Accomplished” and walk away? Did they execute an orderly retreat from the battlefield, in order to prepare for the Police Action on Easter, to be followed by the Minor Skirmish on Labor Day?

The Hollywood writer strike is ongoing. You may not be aware of the crux of the matter at hand so, as I was directly involved in the original discussions, I will recount to you the first conversation between the two parties: 

Writers: You guys make buckets of money by putting shows on the internet. Cut us in for a slice. You do make buckets of money off the internet, right?

There are prostitutes in Raleigh? Really? Who would have thought?

According to the N&O editorial, and several “letter to the editor” writers, this fact is indicative of the collapse of modern civilization, general lawlessness and, most importantly, the shameful indifference of folks who don’t recognize that “we’ve got to do something” about it all.
