03/27/2008

Here is information about another local chapter of Lutheran Peace Fellowship with a presence on the web,

Great Plains Chapter of Lutheran Peace Fellowship, located in Fargo ND (& Moorhead MN):

Public website http://www.greatplainspeace.org

I will add information about other chapters if and when I learn of them.

Personal to John Jorgensen: Sorry it took so long for me to discover your attempt to contact us. I am not able to reciprocate unless either I create a login ID on your site or you create one on this site, so if you read this and still need the information you requested, I would like you to write me another private message with offline contact information for me to use. Thanks! and God's Peace.

Peace Poles in Raleigh
| |

11/17/2007

This essay started out as a longer comment about the Peace Pole at the State Fair, but now I think that's too confining a place to put it.

I think my first introduction the idea of a Peace Pole came when my younger daughter found it suggested as a project in her Girl Scout handbook in 1993 or 1994 and became interested in pursuing it. She proposed that our church install and dedicate one. I came to learn that members of the social ministry committee had been considering this for some time (a few years, perhaps) but had never carried it fully through. This inquiry pushed them to complete the action, and my daughter selected the 4 languages that are on Grace Lutheran's Peace Pole

Evaluation of the Peace Booth at NC State Fair, 2007

11/07/2007

Leo and Judy have published the 2007 State Fair Peace Booth Evaluation this week, and I'll attach it here. Members of Lutheran Peace Fellowship Wake County Chapter and two of the Wake County Lutheran churches volunteered at the booth all day the Monday of the fair (Oct. 15). (BTW, "Wayne" acknowledged in the report is not me, but probably Wayne Baer.)

If you volunteered, Leo and Judy say, "thanks!".

Please consider participating in next year's Peace Booth. And I'm sure they would welcome having more of us participate in the steering committee's preplanning meetings if anyone is interested.
